PolyPro44 with MultiMix

After the discharge screw conveyor has started, the spur gear motor of the planetary gearbox is activated. This motor drives the discharge paddle or the vertical mixing auger in the Rondomat or MultiMix. The auger rotates until either the required amount of material has been dosed or the load on the screw conveyor becomes too high. In this case, the spur gear motor of the planetary gearbox pauses. As soon as the screw conveyor runs freely again, the motor resumes its operation.

The current consumption of the spur gear motor is continuously monitored. If it exceeds an adjustable threshold value (X amperes), the moving floor remains inactive and the solenoid coils stay in the neutral position. If the current consumption is below this value, the moving floor is activated, as it is assumed that the Rondomat or MultiMix is only lightly filled and additional material needs to be advanced. In this case, the solenoid valve controlling the forward feed is activated.

It is recommended to operate the forward feed in intervals: 4 to 8 seconds of forward movement followed by a pause of 8 to 80 seconds. This cycle is repeated until the current consumption exceeds the set threshold value of X amperes, at which point the solenoid valve of the hydraulic power unit pauses. As soon as material has been removed from the Rondomat or MultiMix and the drive runs more freely again, the system resumes interval operation.

When the push-off unit has completed its work and reached the end position, a magnetic sensor sends a signal. The push wall then retracts for about 10 seconds (adjustable) and moves forward again to ensure that even the last remaining material is discharged. By default, this is repeated three times (this value can be adjusted) to ensure full utilization of the container volume. This process is referred to as the “emptying stroke” and ensures that no residue remains attached to the push-off unit that could later dry out or spoil.

Once the push-off container has completed three emptying cycles and reached the minimum weight, it automatically moves forward, where another magnetic sensor switches off the solenoid valve and stops the hydraulic power unit.

Actuators:

  • Two solenoid coils on the hydraulic power unit, 24 V
  • The hydraulic power unit
  • The drive system of the Rondomat (8.3 kW) or the MultiMix (24.2 kW)

Sensors:

  • Two magnetic switches, each located at the front and rear in the side wall of the container
  • Measurement of the current consumption of the spur gear motor
  • Weight measurement from the scale in kilograms (kg)
